Tropical Containers stocks new and used containers. New containers are all surveyed and graded.
Most used containers are surveyed and graded and come in two different classes – ‘A’ grade and Cargo-worthy. Of these, a number have been refurbished.
‘A’ Grade Shipping Containers
Good floors — no breakages
Good doors which easily open fully
All locking bars, cams, saddles, retainers, handles and seals in place.
Absolutely wind and watertight all holes (if there have been any) have been properly and fully repaired. No dents over 50mm deep.
Cargo-worthy Grade Containers
These containers have minor problems such as rust, dents, missing door seals, and may have some small corrosion internally or externally.
The shipping container may not be still wind and watertight, but it will be man proof. Any holes may have been fixed with auto body filler, solastic or flashtac which is a bitumen backed aluminium tape that will last longer than the container. The doors will shut.
Tropical Containers has a number of refurbished containers in stock. The varying forms of refurbishment on our containers may include:
- Porta-power roof and dents;
- Mechanical machine buffing;
- Sand blasting;
- Repairing container to wind and light tight;
- Repairing of doors to satisfactory operation;
- De-denting of unsuitable dents in walls and roof.
Where customers request repairs, we advise on the most cost-effective approach to carrying out those repairs, ensuring that money is not wasted unnecessarily and the value of the container is increased.
